Flexible Cable Net For Large Openings
Velp's stainless steel rope wire mesh program now covers 4 inch aperture zoo netting, balustrade infill and facade greening systems in SS316. The product is a pre-stressed cable net formed from ferruled rope, supplied with the mounting hardware needed to tension it across wide openings.
Rope mesh solves a problem rigid mesh cannot: it spans large areas with minimal structure while remaining visually almost transparent. Zoo designers use it because it reads as open space to animals and visitors, while balustrade specifiers use it where a glass panel would be fragile or a rigid grille would look heavy.

- Balustrade netting - 1.5 mm to 2.0 mm rope for stair and atrium infill.

Design And Installation Support
Velp produces rope mesh to project dimensions with reinforcement ropes at edges, then supplies a tensioning layout showing anchor positions and turnbuckle locations. This matters on zoo contracts, where the net must follow curved enclosure geometry without hard corners that animals could work loose.
For balustrade work, the company advises on post spacing and rope pretension so the net meets deflection limits without overloading anchors. Where a project requires certification, Velp can supply rope breaking load data and material certificates for structural review.
Why SS316
SS316 with molybdenum resists chlorides and atmospheric corrosion, which makes it the standard grade for coastal zoos and marine environments. Inland projects with lower exposure can use SS304 to reduce cost.
